Leadership and Vision:
Educational technology leaders will facilitate development of a shared vision for comprehensive integration of technology and foster an environment and culture conducive to the realization of the vision.
The Circuit Newsletter - The best leadership opportunity I had as a student at Kent State University was to be a graduate assistant for my last year of the program. I worked in the Office of Technology and Distance Education. My favorite duty as a graduate assistant was being in charge of creating, editing and distributing the Office's newsletter, but I was also responsible for maintaining their webpages on the Kent State website and coordinating video conferencing calls for faculty and staff members.
This project supports achievement of this standard because it gave me the opportunity to use my technology skills in a school setting.
Distance Education Project: For a final project in my Distance Education class I researched and evaluated a program called Twilight School, which is an online alternative school at Hudson High School. I found this project to be very interesting because I taught at Hudson High School and also because I am interested in the growing popularity of online classes at a variety of educational levels.
This project shows achievement of this standard because it allowed me to research and evaluate one aspect of a school district's technology plan, which was an online alternative school called Twilight School.
